How does God want you to give? Does he want you to always put others before yourself? Does he want you to give to others so much that you are drained dry? Do your needs matter at all to him?

Christians often have misunderstandings about what God wants them to do when it comes to meeting other people’s needs. They think that God wants them to put others first and to push themselves sacrificially. They look at Jesus’ example and conclude that laying down their lives for others pleases God. They forget that Jesus took time to pray, rest, eat, and fellowship to refresh himself.
